May Update
Spring came a little later this year, but there is still plenty to get excited about. The new community playground finally has a designated site! We have been waiting for the Town to formalize its recommendation about placement, and they did so earlier this month. The playground will be located in the northwest corner of the lawn around Town Hall and extend back toward the Snowflake.
Those of you who have been to town will notice the old equipment has been removed, along with a number of trees. The removal of the old equipment was necessary, regardless of where the new playground was homed. It was charming and unique, but did not meet contemporary safety standards for play equipment. We did not request that the trees be removed, but we know it also was done to provide a safer space for everyone who will build and use the new playground.
We do plan to include shaded spaces in the playscape, and are happy to work with the town to plant new trees after the project is completed.
In other news, we have two exciting fundraisers coming up! Our Toasts, Tastes, and Tango gala event will take place at the Gateway on Thursday, July 14. Look for information around town and on this page very soon. On Saturday, August 6, we also will be hosting a Community Color Run. Again, check back for more information as we get closer to the big event!
As always, thank you to everyone for being so supportive of our efforts! We are fortunate to live in such a generous community.
